Forum > Borrower Questions > Drastic Reduction in Page Followers
I've had series of complains from my friends in Ghana concerning reduction in Zidisha page followers (lenders) over the past weeks. On 23/05/2018, I checked that of mine and to my surprise, my followers has drastically reduced from 208 to 1 and as at today (28/05/2018), it has increase to 5. I checked that of my other friends and it seems the problem is across board.
Please I need some explanations to this reductions.
I have also notice that. My followers had reduce. Any explanation please.
Hello George and Mary.
I've just asked Julia what the reason is for this, and will let you know when I've heard back.
Maybe it has something todo with the European GDPR regulation.
My followers too reduced from 20 to only 4. Could it be the reason my loan has always been expiring without getting funded?
Dancan, Please are you referring to your mentees?
Most of my mentees are first time borrowers but the few have not yet complained abt it coz its now that i have noted it too sir.
Lenders who are following you (Followers)
I think so because my loan fundraising has been pending since then.
Mine too has reduced to zero (0).
Mine own also reduced drastically. What's the problem please. I was just informed by George and after checking, i'm only left with 3.
Please ,may l ask. What's is benefit of having more followers?
At times l see my increased and decreased.
Dave and Joost; please help. I equally need explanation.
Hi, Kusi and Patrick,
The benefit is that next to your image in a lender's "Following" feed, he or she can choose to receive a notification anytime you post a comment on your Discussion page and/or anytime you post a new loan request.
Thanks for raising this general inquiry. ;-)
I don't know the reason for the sudden reduction, either.
It could be that Joost's speculation is correct. It seems plausible.
I'm sure Dave will provide more information, though,
as soon as his question to Julia has been answered.
I heard back from Julia and that's right, Joost, it is related to GDPR.
It seems lenders need to opt back in to notifications in order to resume receiving the notifications and following the same borrowers.
